Block paving, flagging, printed concrete and hard and soft landscaping
Most failed driveways were not laid badly — they were laid on nothing. Blocks sink, flags rock and printed concrete cracks because the sub-base was thin, the falls were wrong or the water had nowhere to go. It always shows up in the second or third winter.
We lay drives in block paving, flagging and printed concrete, and carry out hard and soft landscaping around them — edgings, steps, retaining walls, paths, patios, turfing and planting — so the finished space works as one thing rather than a drive with a garden left over.
The base, then the surface
Excavation to the right depth, a compacted sub-base, edge restraints set in concrete and falls set out so surface water runs where you want it — including compliant drainage where the drive would otherwise shed water onto the highway.
Block paving, flagging and printed concrete
Block paving laid, cut and jointed properly, flagging bedded full rather than on dabs, and printed concrete laid, coloured and sealed — with an honest conversation about how each one ages before you pick.
Hard landscaping
Patios, paths, steps, edgings, retaining walls and the levels that tie a garden together, built to the same standard as the building work rather than as an afterthought.
Soft landscaping
Turfing, beds, topsoil and planting to finish the scheme off, so the job ends with a finished garden rather than a stretch of bare ground next to new paving.
